OL/DL Lineman Camp & 7 on 7

Offensive Line: Teach fundamentals and techniques of individual and combination blocks relative to zone and gap runs. Teach fundamentals and techniques of pass protection verses different defensive fronts and alignments. Progressive blocking techniques will be emphasized and will compete against the defensive line in a 1 on 1 pass pro drill. SMCC Head Coach Les George has a tremendous track record for developing offensive lineman and will be in charge of the participating instructors and drill layouts.

Defensive Line: Teach fundamentals of reading blocks, escaping blocks, getting off the ball, hat and hand placement, use of hands, defeating the trap or kick-out block, squeezing blocks, and rushing the passer. Will compete against the offensive line in a 1 on 1 pass pro drill. SMCC Defensive line coach Terrence Cody was an All-American defensive lineman at the University of Alabama and a second-round draft pick by the Baltimore Ravens in the 2010 NFL draft, he will be responsible for participating instructors and drill layouts.

7 on 7: Will teach position specific fundamentals for Quarterbacks, Running Backs, Wide Receivers, Linebackers, and Defensive Backs. Camp will also guarantee each team at least seven 7 on 7 games. Camp will conclude with a 7 on 7 tournament. Defensive Coordinator (DB) Darius Buck, Co-Offensive Coordinator (WR) Earvin Moore, Co-Offensive Coordinator (QB) Carter Hankins, and Linebackers Coach Chris Stamps have a wealth of knowledge and experience, they will be responsible for participating instructors, drill layouts, and 7 on 7 games/tournament.

What to bring: Helmet, T-shirts, athletic shorts, cleats, socks, underwear, casual clothes, towels, washcloths, toilet articles, and bedding. Bring enough T-shirts and shorts to last seven practices.

Housing and meals: Overnight campers will be housed in campus residence halls. All campers will dine in the campus cafeteria, Holmes Student Union (lunch only for day campers). All meals are included in the tuition. PLEASE ENSURE CAMPERS EAT LUNCH (NOT PROVIDED BY SMCC) PRIOR TO FIRST PRACTICE. The need for spending money is limited, although concessions will be available at night.
